DAYS 9 & 10 – MAGIC
Time
We recommend taking 30-45 minutes in the morning to engage with this content and the activity, and 20 minutes in the evening to journal.
Intention
Each module begins with the setting of a clear intention. This short meditation audio is the same for each module to build a practice of consistently centering.
Locating Magic
When we think of magic, we might imagine the skilled illusionist or the performer with a wand appealing to our sense of wonder. Magic can also stir up images of unicorns, faeries, and witches over cauldrons casting spells. It may also bring in a conjured sense of luck.
We believe every one of us has magic inside. And it can be as accessible as setting an intention and taking action on that intention. The wish is followed by the focus, skill building, and endurance to surpass milestones to its achievement. Although we may have a goal or vision in mind, simply taking a small step in that direction sets magic in motion. Sometimes it's a straightforward path, but often it’s winding and doubles back a few times before becoming clearly marked and possibly leading to a better outcome than we imagined. It’s the journey or process that is magical.
Magic can also be manifestation. Author Mark Manson says, “Manifestation is a mental framework that leverages sub-cognitive biases and the ‘expectation effect’ to your advantage.” Whatever you believe, you’ll see more of it in the reality that you’re making up.
He also says luck is a skill. The more you seek experiences of manifestation, the more opportunities appear for you to experience luck. It’s a numbers game. But luck is also perception. Do you live in a benevolent or malevolent world? How you answer this determines the amount of luck you experience.
The more we are aware of what we want, the more we uncover our true values–the guardrails that define our identity and how we want to live.
This may sound like we are taking the ‘magic’ out of magic. We believe that magic is all around us. The serendipities and coincidences we can’t logicalize. The chance meetings and timings of events that escape explanation. These are happening everywhere, all the time, and our part is to prepare ourselves to say yes to more things that appear to match our requests. Vedic teachings say, “knowledge is structured in consciousness” and the more we can expand our consciousness, the more we can connect more dots.
If we are aligned within our spirit, thoughts, feelings, words, and actions, we can join more naturally with the co-creative powers of magic, which gifts us with unbounded creativity.
